Shinbones Man - Robba (with video)

I visited a mate is in hospital, he had a stroke, and seeing him so confused was pretty sad, although happily there’s a good chance he’ll make a full recovery. I don’t know if any of that experience bled into this track, but it is a little melancholy… Prayers up for my boy “R”.

Beats are RD8, RD6 and SR16.
Percussion is a K2.
Toplines on Deepmind 6 and 0-coast.
Bass from the Wasp.

I’ve made use of the XR12’s EQ on this track to try to get things to pop out where they should and sit tight otherwise. I’ve not mastered mixing yet(!) and this is still technically live analog music, albeit sequenced, so not perfect by any means but hopefully my mixing is improving or at least making more sophisticated errors! I’m tweaking filters and envelopes live as well as playing the last little piece through the 0coast.

BTW I found out the other day - vinyl isn’t analog! All vinyl goes through a digital delay so that the write head doesn’t jump all over the place. Mind. Blown.
