Effects pedal patchbay build (with video)

By Gavin Davies

Effects pedal patchbay build

I wanted to build a patch bay (also known as a jackfield) for guitar effects. It enables me to repatch my effects like a modular synth!

It can sit on a pedal board and is totally passive - it needs no power. It’s extremely simple. If you want to build one, you could! It’s a fun project.

Bill of Materials (BOM):

  • 1 x 1590b “hammond” style enclosure (you could use a larger enclosure to support more patches)
  • 2 x 1.25” TS jack sockets
  • 4 x 1.25” TRS jack sockets
  • 10 x 3.5mm TS minijack sockets
  • hookup wire
